Terms of Sale for Customers

Last updated: October 21, 2026

These terms apply when you place an order with a business ("the seller") through its Ask My Bot shop or Kiosk page. You agree to them by placing an order: checkout says so, with a link to these terms, next toPlace order. They are written to work alongside your rights under consumer law, never to take them away. Version 2026-10-21.

1. Who you are buying from

You buy directly from the seller named on the shop page. The seller is responsible for its products and services, prices, taxes, delivery or pickup, cancellations, returns, refunds, warranties and customer service.

Ask My Bot provides the software the seller uses for its shop page. We are not the seller, and we do not hold stock, set prices, deliver orders or collect payments for sellers. Where Indian law treats us as an intermediary or marketplace platform, we meet the duties that apply to us, including showing who the seller is and handling grievances (see section 12).

2. Placing an order

  • Your order is a request to buy. A contract with the seller is formed when the seller accepts it, for example by confirming it or starting to prepare it.
  • The seller may decline or cancel an order before it is fulfilled, for example when an item is out of stock, a price or description was clearly wrong, the delivery address is outside its area, or the order looks fraudulent or abusive (section 7). If you already paid, you get a full refund.
  • Give accurate details: your name, phone number, address and any other information the order asks for. The seller relies on them to contact you and fulfil your order.
  • You must be at least 18, or order with the permission of a parent or guardian. Some products (for example age-restricted goods) can only be sold to adults, and the seller may ask for proof of age.

3. Prices, charges and product details

  • The total shown before you place the order includes the item prices, taxes the seller includes, and any delivery or other charges the seller has set. No charge is added after you order without your agreement.
  • Product names, descriptions and photos come from the seller. Some photos are representative and are labelled as such (for example an AI image). If what you receive is materially different from its description, you have the rights in section 6.
  • Delivery and preparation times are the seller's estimates, not guarantees, unless the seller promises a time.

4. Cash on delivery and paying the seller

  • Cash on delivery (COD): by choosing it, you agree to pay the full order amount in cash (or the method the seller accepts) when the order is delivered or handed over, and to be available at the address and time you gave.
  • You may refuse a COD order at delivery only for a good reason: the items are wrong, damaged, defective, missing, not as described, or the order arrives much later than the time the seller promised. Refusing for another reason, or repeatedly not being available, costs the seller money and counts as misuse (section 7).
  • Because of that cost, a seller may, after refused or abandoned COD orders, ask you to pay in advance, offer only pickup, or decline COD for your future orders. A seller may also call you to confirm a COD order before preparing it.
  • Paying online: online payments go to the seller through the payment link, UPI or QR code it provides. Ask My Bot does not receive or hold your money. Report a payment problem to the seller first, and to your bank or payment app if it isn't resolved.

5. Cancelling an order

  • You can cancel free of charge until the seller starts preparing or dispatching your order. Ask the seller through the shop page or the contact details on it.
  • After that, the seller's cancellation policy applies. A seller may only charge for cancelling if it told you about the charge before you ordered, the charge is reasonable, and the seller would bear a similar charge if it cancelled your order.
  • Freshly prepared food, perishable goods and items made or changed to your order usually can't be cancelled once preparation has started.

6. Returns, replacements and refunds

  • Your rights stay: if a product is defective, damaged, wrong, missing, past its expiry date, or not as described, or a service is deficient, you are entitled to a remedy (repair, replacement or refund, as appropriate) under consumer law, whatever the seller's own policy says.
  • Tell the seller as soon as you can, with your order number and, where possible, photos. For food and perishable goods, report it on the day of delivery. For other goods, report it within the time in the seller's return policy, or a reasonable time if it has none.
  • Beyond those rights, returns for a change of mind follow the seller's return policy. Unless the seller says otherwise, they aren't offered for food, perishable goods, personal-care and hygiene products once opened, or items made to order.
  • Returned goods should be unused, complete and in their original packaging where that is reasonable, except where the product itself is defective.
  • Refunds go back by the original payment method (or another method you agree to) within a reasonable time after the seller accepts the return or cancellation.

7. Fair use and misuse

Ordering is for genuine purchases. You agree not to:

  • place fake, prank or test orders, or orders in someone else's name without their consent;
  • refuse or abandon cash-on-delivery orders without a good reason (section 4);
  • make a false claim that an item was missing, damaged or wrong, or return a used, damaged or different item in place of the one delivered;
  • give false contact or address details, or use the shop to harass, threaten or abuse the seller or its staff;
  • interfere with the shop page, or use automated tools to place orders.

If you do, the seller may cancel your orders, decline further orders or COD from you, and seek to recover its actual losses through lawful means. Ask My Bot may limit your access to shops hosted on our platform. Fraud and threats may be reported to the authorities. None of this takes away your rights for a genuine problem with an order.

8. Records of your order

Each order keeps the version of these terms you agreed to and the time you agreed, together with the order details. The seller and Ask My Bot may use these records to answer questions about the order, handle a complaint or dispute, and prevent misuse. How personal data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy and in the seller's own privacy policy when it links one.

9. Responsibility

  • The seller is responsible to you for the products and services it sells and for its own policies.
  • Ask My Bot is responsible for running the shop software with reasonable care. We are not responsible for a seller's products, prices, delivery or refunds, or for a seller's acts or omissions.
  • Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the laws of the place where you live.

10. Problems and complaints

  • Contact the seller first: most problems are solved fastest by the business that took your order. Its contact details are on the shop page.
  • If the seller doesn't respond or resolve it, or the problem is with the shop page itself, contact our Grievance Officer (section 12). We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within one month, and we will help put you in touch with the seller.
  • In India you can also call the National Consumer Helpline on 1915 or use consumerhelpline.gov.in, and file a complaint with the Consumer Commission, including online through e-Daakhil.

11. Law and courts

These terms are governed by the laws of India. You may bring a consumer complaint before the Consumer Commission where you live or work, as the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 allows; other disputes go to the courts in India that have jurisdiction. If you live outside India, you keep any protection the mandatory consumer laws of your country give you.

If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies. We may update these terms; the version you agreed to applies to that order, and a new version applies only to orders placed after you agree to it.

12. Grievance Officer

Complaints about an order on a shop hosted by Ask My Bot, or about these terms, can be sent to our Grievance Officer, as required by the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021:
