Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about setup, privacy, plans, and feature behavior.

What content can I use to train a bot?

You can train from documents, pasted text, images with OCR, and website imports. Business and Scale can also use live API context.

Can I keep my bot private?

Yes. Private bots are available only to signed-in users whose email addresses are allowed by the bot owner.

Can I publish a bot publicly?

Yes. Public bots get a public page and can be embedded on websites with the Ask My Bot widget.

Can I embed the bot on any website?

Yes. Public bots include a widget script you can install on your site. You can also set widget allowed domains to control where it loads.

How do answers stay accurate?

Ask My Bot uses retrieval-augmented generation so responses are grounded in your training sources and available live API context.

What AI model powers Ask My Bot?

Ask My Bot uses Google Gemini for AI tasks such as OCR, extraction, embeddings, and answer generation from retrieved context.

Is my data sold?

No. Ask My Bot does not sell uploaded content, private bot data, leads, conversations, or indexed knowledge.

Is my data safe?

Ask My Bot uses authenticated access controls and provider infrastructure from Firebase, Google Cloud, Pinecone, and Gemini. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so users should only upload content they are allowed to process through cloud and AI providers.

What languages are supported?

Ask My Bot can reply across many languages through Gemini. For best results, upload source material in the same languages your visitors will use.

What is the difference between public and private bots?

Public bots can be shared, embedded, and used by visitors. Private bots require sign-in with an allowed email and do not expose widgets, public discovery surfaces, or lead-capture prompts.

Can I white-label or remove branding?

Promotional Ask My Bot branding is removed from public pages and widgets on Pro, Business, and Scale plans.

How do I get leads from my bot?

Public bots can collect contact details and custom fields during high-intent chats. Leads include summaries, conversation history, custom details, reference IDs, and pipeline status.

Can I send leads to another tool?

Yes. Business and Scale include webhook forwarding so new lead data can be sent to CRMs, automation tools, or custom endpoints.

Which plans include Live API?

Live API is included in Business and Scale plans.

Can teammates help manage a bot?

Yes. Bot owners can invite collaborators by email. Collaborators can manage knowledge documents and view analytics, while owner-only actions stay restricted.

Does the chat remember visitors?

Public chat history is saved locally in the visitor's browser for 7 days, so returning visitors can continue from recent context on the same device.

Can visitors use voice?

Yes. Visitors can use voice input and voice playback where their browser supports it.

Can answers include media?

Yes. Answers can show relevant indexed images and supported rich media previews, including YouTube videos and public Instagram posts or reels when embedding is allowed.

What analytics are available?

Bot owners can track questions, unanswered questions, likes, dislikes, like rate, and readiness recommendations.

Can I update or delete trained sources?

Yes. You can manage training sources from your dashboard at any time, including removing outdated content.
